Local Parish Councillor declares Spectrum Style open
We are thrilled to announce the opening of ‘Spectrum Style’, our new hair, grooming & beauty training salon, on the bustling Barrow-upon-Soar High Street from Monday 27th November.
Today we officially opened Spectrum Style to the public!
We heard from Trustee Audrey about how Spectrum Style will develop our students’ employability skills, boost their self-confidence and prepare them for the world of work, and Principal Tracey thanked all those involved in the monumental task of transforming our old cafe into a modern training salon in such a short turn-around.
We were delighted to welcome Sandy, Chair of the Barrow upon Soar Parish Council, to join Level 1 Hair & Beauty student Chelsea in the ceremonious cutting of the ribbon. Guests enjoyed tasty treats made by our team at Breward’s Coffee Shop served by Pathway 3 student Louis, and indulged in free treatments including a manicure, nail paint and hand massage by our students.
Our official first customer was Finola who is our current Digital Communications Apprentice. Previously a Pathway 3 student at Homefield, Finola has excelled in her paid employment with us and after a team effort of endless consideration of names for the salon, she came up with ‘Spectrum Style’ which was immediately loved by all.
Level 1 Hair & Beauty student Carly treated Finola to a hair straightening, and you can swipe through the gallery to see the before and after pictures which capture the transformation thanks to Carly’s styling. Great work Carly!
Thank you to everyone who attended our launch, including Mike at Inspiring Salons, fellow shop owners on Barrow High Street and members of the local community. We look forward to the community’s continued support as we embark on this exciting new venture.
We are now open to the public for treatments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays currently. You can book by calling 01509 416 561, popping in to see us in the salon, or sending a message via Spectrum Style’s Facebook page.
